The English Translation of the Qasida no. 3 (Al Mahdiyya)

قُلْ تَحَصَّنْتُ بِالَّذِي أَسَّسَ اللَّهُ   * * *   فَالَّذِي أَسَّسَ الُمهَيْمِنُ مَهْدِي

Say, I am fortified by that been founded by Allah *  as that founded by Al Muhayminu (the  Guardian) is my cradle

قُلْ تَوَسَّلْتُ بِالأُلَى كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ   * * *   فَالأُلَى كَرَّمَ الْمُهَيْمِنُ وِرْدِي

Say, I beseech through those been honoured by Allah * as those honoured by Al Muhayminu (the Guardian) are my wird (devotional prayer)

قُلْ تَشَفَّعْتُ بِالَّذِي أَفْرَدَ اللَّهُ   * * *   فَالَّذِي أَفْرَدَ الْمُهَيْمِنُ جَدِّي

Say, I seek the interceding of that been singled out by Allah * as that been singled out by Al Muhayminu (the Guardian) is my grandfather

قُلْ تَمَسَّكْتُ بِالَّذِي أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ   * * *   فَالَّذِي أَنزَلَ الْمُهَيْمِنُ قَصْدِي

Say, I adhered to that been revealed by Allah * as that been revealed by Al Muhayminu (the Guardian) is my aim

يَا مُرِيدِي رِضَايَ فِي ذِكْرِكَ اللَّهَ   * * *   يَا مُرِيدِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ عِنْدِي

O! My follower, my satisfaction is by your remembrance of Allah  * O! My follower the depositories of Allah, I have

أَيَّ وَصْفٍ لَهَا وَأَيُّ نُعُوتٍ   * * *   لاَ وَرَبِّ الْهِبَاتِ مَا الْوَصْفُ يُجْدِي

What a description to it and what attributives * No, by the Lord of the gifts, the description does not work

أَيُّ طَعْمٍ لَهَا وَأَيُّ مَذَاقٍ   * * *   لاَ وَرَبِّ الْبُيُوتِ فالسِّرُّ عِنْدِي

What a taste of it and what a savor * No, by the Lord of Houses, the secret, I have

أَيُّ عَيْشٍ بِهَا وَأَيُّ نَعِيمٍ   * * *   إِيْ وَرَبِّ الْجَمَالِ مَا الْفَرْدُ نِدِّي

What a living in it and what bliss * Yeah, by the Lord of beauty, not Al Fard (the single) is my compeer

أَيُّ خَمْرِ وَأَيُّ شِرْبٍ مُصَفَّى   * * *   دَنُّ دِيَوانِهِ أُدِيرُهُ وَحْدِي

What a wine and what a purified drink * The cask of its bureau, I drive it alone

أَيُّمَا خَرْدَلٍ يَكُونُ بِغَيْبٍ   * * *   مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْغُيوبِ فِي طَيِّ عِقْدِي

Whatsoever mustard be in absence * of all absences is in fold of my necklace

أَيُّ قَوْلٍ وَأَيُّ فَصْلٍ وَهَزْلٍ   * * *   كُلُّ يَاقُوتَةِ عَلَى جِيدِ هِنْدِي

What a say and what determination and play * Every ruby on the neck of my beauty  (Tariqa beauty)

مَا خَلاَ خِلَّتِي خَلَتْ كُلُّ أَرْضٍ   * * *   مِنْ سِوَى جَاهِلٍ يُجِيدُ التَّعَدِّي

Other than my companionship, every land has vacated * except of an ignorant who perfects aggression

أَيُّ حَالٍ وَأَيُّ حَوْلٍ وَطَوْلٍ   * * *   كُلُّ مَيْلٍ عَنِ الْمَلِيحَةِ يُرْدِي

What status and what ability and power * Every inclining away of the beautiful, eliminates

أَيُّ كَرْمٍ وَأَيُّ خَمْرٍ وَأَمْرٍ   * * *   أَيُّ صَاحٍ مِنَ التَّهَتُّكِ يُبْدِي

What grape and what wine and matter * Every  awaken, by dissipation exposes

مِنْ عَجِيبِ الْعُجَابِ فِي أَهْلِ عَصْرِي   * * *   أَنَّ مَنْ يَجْهَلِ النَّصِيحَةَ يُسْدِي

Of the amazing surprising of my era people * is that who is ignorant about the truth, gives advice

إِنَّمَا تَعْمُرُ الْعَنَاكِبُ دَاراً   * * *   بَاتَ أَصْحَابُهَا عَلَى غَيْرِ عَهْدِي

Indeed, spiders dwell a house * that its owners stay not to my covenant

مِثْلَمَا حَفَّتِ الْمَلاَئِكُ قَوْماً   * * *   مِلْءُ أَجْفَانِهِمْ مِنَ الشَّوْقِ سُهْدِي

Same as the Angels has surrounded a people * Their eyelids filled by longing, as my sleeplessness

قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ مَنْ رَمَانِي بِسُوءٍ   * * *   ذَلِكَ الأَمْرُ مَا لَهُ مِنْ مَرَدّ

Allah turns odious who accuses me with misdoing * That thing, can not be averted

كَفّيَ الْجُودُ وَالسَّخَاءُ عَطَائِي   * * *   لَسْتُ مَنْ خَافَ شُحَّ نَفْسٍ فَيُكْدِي

My hand is gerousity and openhandedness is my giving * I am not for tightfistedness fear and cease giving

تَضْبَحُ الْعَادِيَاتُ بِالرَّكْبِ جَدّاً   * * *   تَقْدَحُ الْمُورِيَاتُ تَطْلُبُ مَدِّي

The racers pant with the riders diligently * The spark producers striking demanding my support

وَالْمُغِيَراتُ فِي الْغَدَاةِ بَدَتْ لِي   * * *   قَدْرَ مَا لاَ يُعَدُّ فِي غَيْرٍ عَدِّي

And; the chargers in the morning appeared to me * as much as can not be counted in other than my sole counting

قَدْ أَثَارَتْ مَلاَئِكُ اللَّهِ نَقْعاً   * * *   حَيَّرَ اللبَ بَيْنَ أَخْذً وَرَدّ

The Angels of Allah Stirred up clouds of dust * that amazed the mind  by pulling and pushing

ذَلِكَ السَّتْرُ مِنْ عَظَائِمِ فَضْلٍ   * * *   فِي أَمِينِ الأَمَانِ بِاطِنُ جَدِّي

That veil is from the greats of favours * in the faithful of the safety, the inside of my grandfather
