Sharab el wasl (continued)Qasidah No.30Verse No. 3The “qiblah” that witnessed the first act of prostration was one of clay upon which shone the rays of the Supreme LightThe first act of prostration ever to have taken place was done by the angels when Allah commanded them to prostrate themselves before Adam.* The linguistic definition of "Kiblah" in Arabic is: "A direction towards which a group of people turn their gaze in unison, or physically go to, in order to perform the same task in a collective way. Not to be confused with "Al Kiblah" which is located in Mecca. In the broader sense of the term, the sheikh is for us "a kiblah" because our hearts must be at all times turned towards him.The rays of the supreme light: The supreme names of Allah who are all present within Sayyidina Adam.“And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; He said: Tell Me the names of those if you are right.2:32 They said: Glory be to Thee! we have no knowledge but that which Thou hast taught us. Surely Thou art the Knowing, the Wise.2:33 He said: O Adam, inform them of their names. So when he informed them of their names, He said: Did I not say to you that I know what is unseen in the heavens and the earth? And I know what you manifest and what you hide.” (al Baqarah)Unlike most accepted interpretations of this verse, the names in question were not those of creatures and objects, they are the names of Allah. All the names and not just those to which we were made privy.Angels know only the divine name of which they are directly responsible and none other. So, when Adam informed them not only of their own names, but also of all the others, they went from disbelief and condescension to submission and all but one knelt before Adam.
